How this is all going to work :
Each week, I'll be posting a new uncaptioned picture on the message board. Everyone is encouraged to come up with the best caption they can and post it in the thread. Generally, you'll be free to have any or all of the characters spouting dialog, or supply an under the box caption for the entire scene, whatever works for you.
At the end of the week, I'll go through all the entries, shortlist my favourites and archive them on the Dragon Tails site. This is not a competition, as there are no prizes both because this is an ongoing activity, and I wanted to keep it pretty light, but you will get your name recorded and it'll hopefully be a bit of fun that anyone has a chance to participate in.
Basic Rules, Guidelines and Tips
You get one entry. If you think of a better ideas later you're free to keep posting, but I'll only count your newest submission.
Don't edit your post once people have posted after you. Edits are time stamped, and if there's any confusion about what came first, I might be forced to ignore your entry.
Preference will go to the first person to post an idea. In most cases, I'll favour the first person to come up with the angle, so posting something along the same lines as someone else is unlikely to be chosen.
Shorter is better. You just want to find a joke and run with it, don't feel you need dialog for every character who has their mouth open, or explain everything in the scene, and don't try and turn it into a comic strip with characters exchanging multiple pieces of dialog. Deliver the gag and stop.
Think outside the box. See what's not obvious, see things I didn't even think of, reinterpret the scene in a way that makes people look at it differently and laugh. That's really your best bet.
